Many thanks to Jamie for referring me here! I hope to post often and help inspire, encourage and assist others to reaching their health goals !

My Atkins journey began on January 19, 2002. Within one year I lost 40 pounds and have kept it off for the past 7+ years. I am an avid runner at age 53, having taken up the hobby at the ripe old age of 48. Since November 2003, I have logged over 10,000 running miles.

I am proof positive that its never too late to take charge of your health and turn your life around. I owe it all to Dr. Atkins!

Betty, that is so encouraging. I started my atkins journey in 2002 as well. Lost about 100 in the first year and then lost another 20 the next year. Started running but let the carb creeper in and gained a bit back over the past few years. I still run but my foot is giving me trouble right now. I think I need to see a pediatrist and it is making me cranky cause I can't run. I've never been fast but I do enjoy it and I know I get the best calorie burn for my work. I started running at about age 44 so a bit younger than you but not much. I had hoped to run a half marathon or maybe a 10 K this year but it wasn't in the cards with my stupid foot but every time I go for a run and my dh just shakes his head I say "I will NOT be defeated by my foot!" ;) (he's been running too) I have about 40 pounds to lose to be where I think would be a good weight for me so I'm still hoping running is still in my future.
