Low Carb Slurpees/Slushies

Use a blender that doesn't leave chunks of ice and will be powerful enough to blend the ice smoothly.

Use SF Koolaid packets. Make Koolaid using half the water recommended.

Place about 2 cups of ice cubes in the blender and pour in the Double Strength Koolaid covering the ice. Blend till smooth, adding more Koolaid mix as needed. Blend till it looks like a slurpee.

Pour into a tall glass. Serve with a straw and/or spoon.

I'm going to the store to get some kool aid now. I've seen the sugar free slurpee advertised at 7-11, but we don't have a 7-11 anywhere close to me here in Eastern NC. :(

I don't like the 7-11 sugar free slurpees Heather. They're not 'icy', they're 'foamy' and they melt by the time you get to the car. They also have an odd after taste. I'd rather eat plain crushed ice than one of those. I need to break out my blender.

Thanks for the heads up Carey! At least I'm not missing anything. :D There is a 7-11 about 30 minutes from my parent's house & we are visiting this weekend, so I may have driven up there for it. Now I wouldn't be tempted!!

I have the Ninja and it chops ice up really good.

Do you think this work with the crystal light packets or better with koolaid.

I'd think the crystal light would work too Diane.
