  1. Costa Rica Tomorrow Night ..

    I am off to Costa Rica Saturday night and have been working hard to figure out the food end of things. There should be no problem at all for the first 2-3 days as we will be in a westernized area with the usual restaurants .. I have done well in that kind of situation before - not quite as well as at home, but fairly well!

    The issue will arise for the following 6 days. I have read that the rest of the country subsides on a more peasant fare that revolves around rice and bean dishes, ...

  2. Maintenance This Week Sucks ..

    but has been successful, so at least I can say that.

    I had two wasp stings last Saturday afternoon and, despite the benadryl and ice, my arm started to get bigger and bigger and bigger - never mind the extreme pain. Any other day and I'd have been to my doctor's office the following day when I realized that this was not any kind of normal, but no, ended up in the ER and then on doses of benadryl and keflex antibiotic all week (til tomorrow night).

  4. Do I have anything to say?

    A blog is intriguing for me. I believe that it will give me a reason to ramble though. Hehe...

    Low carb has been something of a journey for me for the last 7 years. I spent about 6 months doing weight watchers and maintained my 100 lb weight loss, I abandoned low carb for about 11 months and gained a ton of weight. I have been back to half assed low carbing for about 14 months now. I've lost 24 lbs, and seem stuck. I know I have to be very careful & also have to watch ...

  5. The Maintain Game

    So the Olive Garden debacle worked itself out I think ... My weight went up a bit (like 1 pound) and is staying there due to pms water weight, I think. I upped my calorie level from about 1600 calories for slow weightloss, to 2050 daily (50-80 net carbs). I am liking that level and plan to stay there with a weekly "splurge" higher, same as I have done even when "dieting."

    This level may not keep me from still losing, but I won't know til after the pms departs, lol! ...
